about Becky Utecht
I fell down the fiber art rabbit hole after acquiring my first two sheep in 2001. I use the wool from my flock to spin, knit, felt, weave, and do Skinnfell (stitching and wood block printing on tanned sheepskin).
I have taught felting classes for over 15 years and Skinnfell classes for 5 years. In addition to teaching at Sheep & Wool festivals, I teach at the American Swedish Institute, North House Folk School, the Vesterheim, and Marine Mills Folk School.
I was awarded a grant to study Skinnfell at a Folk School in Norway during the summer of 2025.
